WASHINGTON, DC: Gerald S. Divaris, chairman and CEO of Divaris Real Estate, Inc. (DRE), announced four leases totaling 18,040 square feet of space in the Northern Virginia and Maryland markets. All negotiations were handled through the Washington, DC office of DRE.
Montessori Kids Universe leased 7,800 square feet of freestanding former school space at 8866 Columbia 100 Parkway in Columbia, Maryland. Montessori Kids Universe offers a franchise child care opportunity with a variety of learning experiences utilizing the Montessori curriculum. The tenant was represented by Joseph Farina, managing broker of the DC office of DRE, in the negotiations with the landlord, J.M.J. Lance, LLC.
Overstock Furniture leased 6,000 square feet of retail space in Beltway Plaza Shopping Center located at 6000 Greenbelt Road in Greenbelt, Md. Overtstock Furniture is a local furniture retailer that operates four stores throughout the region – Alexandria, Va, Hyattsville, Catonsville and Lanham, Md. The lease negotiations with the landlord, GB Mall Limited Partnership, were handled on behalf of the tenant by Susan McGee of DRE.
The Winery at Olney leased 2,440 square feet of retail space in the Divaris-leased and –managed Stone House Square Shopping Center located at 19329 Leitersburg Pike in Hagerstown, Md. The winery joins Lowe’s, Weis, The Greene Turtle, Friendly’s, Advanced Auto Parts, Subway and Capital One in Stone House Square. The lease was handled on behalf of the landlord, Stone House Maryland, LLC, by Gerald Divaris.
Cook 365 leased 1,800 square feet of retail space at the Divaris-leased Ashburn Square shopping center located at 20630 Ashburn Square in Ashburn, Virginia. Cook 365 is a commercial kitchen servicing food trucks in the Northern Virginia markets. McGee handled the lease on behalf of the landlord, Willis Companies. Other tenants in Ashburn Square include 7-Eleven, Studio Bleu and School of Rock.
