CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA: Gerald S. Divaris, chairman and CEO of Divaris Real Estate, Inc. (DRE), announced the sale of a former restaurant and the signing of seven leases for a total of 24,997 square feet of new and renewed commercial space and in North Carolina and South Carolina.  Negotiations were handled by agents of the Charlotte office of Divaris Real Estate.

Mission Hospital leased 10,752 square feet of retail space in the freestanding Divaris-leased property located at 275 McDowell Street in Asheville, NC.  Mission Health, based in Asheville, North Carolina, is the state’s sixth-largest health system and the region’s only not-for-profit, independent community hospital system governed and managed exclusively in western North Carolina.  Teitsma represented the landlord, Asheville Drug Store Holdings, LLC in the lease negotiations.    

Aqua-Tots Swim Schools leased 5,375 square feet of retail space in the Divaris-leased and -managed Providence Plaza located at 2935 Providence Road in Charlotte.  Aqua-Tots Swim Schools has franchises worldwide in efforts to reduce drownings by providing families with life-saving swimming instruction.

WGM Design, Inc. leased 2,636 square feet of office space in Providence Plaza located at 2907 Providence Road in Charlotte, NC.  The mixed-use office/retail property is now 100 percent leased.   It was purchased by Armada Hoffler in September 2015.  Tenants in Providence Plaza include:  Redding, Tison & Jones; Burley Dentistry; Newmark Grubb Knight & Frank; Edward Jones; Poppy’s Bagels; Little Gym; Chipotle; Flywheel Sports; Massage Envy; Secret Chocolatier and Block & Grinder.  DRE’s Charles Neil represented the landlord, Providence Plaza Charlotte, LLC, in the lease negotiations.

ManpowerGroup leased 1,253 square feet of retail space in the Divaris-leased and -managed Harper Hill Commons located at 131 Vinegar Hill Road in Winston-Salem, NC.  ManpowerGroup is a world leader in innovative workforce solutions, connecting over 600,000 people to meaningful work across a wide range of skills and industries around the world.

9Round leased 1,164 square feet of retail space at Harper Hill Commons located at 4940 Martin View Lane.  9Round offers a kickboxing-themed fitness program that incorporates a functional, interval, cardiovascular, and circuit training regimens.

18 Malaysia leased 2,111 square feet of retail space in Harper Hill Commons located at 4956 Martin View Lane in Winston-Salem, NC.  The Malaysian/Asian restaurant concept joins other tenants in the property, including:  Harris Teeter, Papa John’s, Kimono, Mac & Nelli’s, Ultratan, Score More Sports, Inner Strength Pilates, and StateFarm.  DRE’s Neil and Peadon represented the landlord, Harper Hill North Carolina, LLC, in the three lease negotiations.

Terry A. Jackson leased 1,706 square feet of retail space in the Divaris-leased and -managed Pawtuckett Shopping Center located at 7917 Moore’s Chapel Road in Charlotte.  The barber shop/beauty salon joins Transit Damage Freight, Dollar General, Pawtuckett Laundry Mat, Kingdom Restoration Church, Metro PCS and Monaes Café in the shopping center.

Panhandle Ventures, LLC purchased 2.23 acres located 195 Turnersburg Highway in Statesville, NC.  The former freestanding Golden Corral restaurant site will be redeveloped into a multi-tenant property.  Neil represented the seller, Rosewood Holdings, LLC, in the transaction.
