Divaris Real Estate Appoints Steve Blum Chief Leasing Officer

Virginia Beach, Va. (June 20, 2024) — Divaris Real Estate today announced that Steve Blum has joined the company as Chief Leasing Officer. This strategic leadership position will augment leasing in all lines of business in Divaris Real Estate and will serve as a resource to the companies of the Divaris Group.

Steve is an accomplished executive with 30 years of experience in retail operations and commercial real estate. Starting on the retail sales floor, he advanced to market research and strategy with national retailers.

In 2005, Steve joined The Taubman Company. Hired into a group applying best practices across the publicly traded REIT, he streamlined processes and modernized tools for leasing agents. He then transitioned to leasing, managing national and local retail accounts in the Mid-Atlantic, including Charleston, Charlotte, Hampton Roads, Richmond, and the Washington D.C. region. He was responsible for all leasing tools, processes, and support personnel as well as the training of all new agents.  Recognizing the increasing role of technology for both landlord and tenant, Steve led numerous data-driven upgrades.

In 2019, Steve joined The Surnow Company based in Birmingham, Mich., as Vice President, where he led all daily operations of a diverse regional portfolio, including leasing and property management of community retail, office, flex, and mixed-use properties.
